Our Story

Xchange was born out of a real struggle faced by international students. In 2023/2024, inflation made it difficult for Nigerian students in Canada to access fair exchange rates for tuition, rent, and living expenses. Traditional platforms often buy currency low and sell high, leaving students disadvantaged on both sides.

As a student myself, I experienced this challenge first-hand — students forced to sell dollars at poor rates, while others had to buy at inflated prices. That’s when the idea came: create a safe, community-driven marketplace where students and diaspora can exchange directly at fair, transparent rates — without relying on profit-driven FX companies.

What Xchange Is

• A community marketplace for exchanging CAD ↔ NGN.
• A space where verified users connect securely and fairly.
• A solution created by students, for students and diaspora communities.
• A middle ground — not the highest or lowest market rate, but a fair balance for both sides.

What Xchange Is NOT

How It Works

1. Register and upload your ID document.
2. Once verified by admin, post a Buy or Sell request.
3. Other verified members can view and respond to your request.
4. You exchange securely, with admin oversight and escrow protection where required.
